stop getting married left and right until I at least have a steady boyfriend? What? What do you mean you're not going to put your happiness on hold for me? I mean, come on. Is my self-pity worth nothing to you, then? Well, fine! Go ahead and be happy, you stinkin lovebirds. Excuse me? Get a life and stop comparing myself to you, you say? Hah, that's some classic advice. Yeah, yeah. Paul, shmaul.
For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise (2 Corinthians 10:12).

Again, all the single girls said AMEN!
Thanks for the single girl solidarity, Kim.
However, I want to make it clear to everyone that the tone of this post was entirely facetious. (except for the "stop comparing yourself to others" scripture at the end.) I was trying to show how ridiculous and absurd it is to want people to stop getting married. My favorite line from this post is "Is my self-pity worth nothing to you, then?" LOL! I crack myself up.
After the 4th wedding announcement I've gotten this summer, I will admit that I felt a twinge of self-pity rise up, so I created this post to make fun of myself and put things in perspective.
single fellas, too. AMEN!
Even though it's been many moons ago, I remember when I was single and EVERYONE around me was getting married, but ME! The top of my fridge was covered with dried bridesmaid bouquets and I had umpteen bredesmaid dresses shoved into the back of my closet (like I was ever going to wear those things again!). It was a trying time, but, like you, Chantell, I tried to see the humor in it all! *smile*
